Many riders give up riding. Forr different reasons money, school, fear, heartbreak.. maybe they just loose interest. This past week. I was fortunate enough to go to the world equestrian games. I saw my idol Laura graves, Charlotte, etc it’s amazing. These riders never gave up. They didn’t come from money, but they did have a driving passion. Laura didn’t stop riding because she had a difficult horse. I also got to visit one of my biggest idols. I went to see the barn I grew up riding at. I saw my old trainer Jill. I got to ride fire my best friend growing up, and today. We are still connected no matter how far I am from him. I’ve never been so connected to a horse. Jill gave me an apartment to live at on weekends for free at 13 years old. I only spent one night there because I couldn’t be away from my mom all alone all night! I did sleep in my horses stall one night and had a hay sleepover. I don’t remember all of Jill’s back story, but I do remember she couldn’t afford a super fancy horse. Jill fought for her sport. She goes to many Region 9 shows and made a beautiful business! She trains kids and enjoys the horses. She never gave up. I won Arabian championships because of her. So never give up. In the irons is proof anything is possible. If you lose a job find another barn. If you lose clients keep trying. Is you lose a show don’t let it stop you. Believe in you!
